Good news for all Linux users are the UA! A new VPN server is in service for a few weeks now, and it allows connections not only with Cisco's own client but also with the free and open source
vpnc.

No doubt that it took the ICT worker bees quite some time to get the beast up, but now, the new departmental server is finally here!
Some four, five months after its delivery, all the software has been installed, all (?) users moved their data, and and symlinks have been reset to access out new FreeBSD-driven powerhorse. Did you notice a speed update on website loads on win.ua.ac.be/*? Well I did! :D

Hi all! In an attempt to have all our departmental Drupal sites running from one common installation (and hence ease the need for maintaining), my site is currently on the move.
That said, don't be surprised to see some strange artifacts on the site these days, like, missing images, broken links and such.
Also, we're moving the the all new departmental (web)server, which might mean extra-disturbance but quite soon, extra-speed as well! :)
Cheers,
Nico

Some of you might have noticed that my website went down for about 18 hours starting from yesterday afternoon, along with all the other Drupal-powered sites on our server. The surfer was greeted with nothing more than a "Hi, the server is down." message, along with a warning about too many msqli connections.
This made some people think about a DOS attack or something like that, but the reason behind it was merely a full hard-drive (partition) on the webserver. Sheesh...

Well, I admit that it's not exactly convenient to edit a website without actually knowing what kind of syntax the system administrator chooses to provide. For this reason, I made the (
freely editable) pages in the
Linux section comply to the Wikimedia syntax.
Now, for example, blocks of code need no longer be included in obscure
[...]
environments, but Wikimedia's [...] can be used. How nice!
