UA ICT support
The UA ICT provides a couple of services to all UA students and personnel, most of which supposedly happens quite smoothly. There are some aspects, however, which the ICT handles less optimal. This does, for example, include
- no support for Mac OS,
- no support for Linux, or whole of Unix for that matter,
- no backups,
- omnipresence of proprietary formats, such as doc,-docx, xls-files, even for most official documents,
- no central knowledge exchange,
- a significant number of small issues, including for example the fact that cannot send e-mails from outside the UA network.
As none of these things don't seem to change very quickly, this site has been created as an alternative and complimentary UA communinty exchange helpdesk.
If you have a problem, if no one else can help, you might want to consider the forums or the wiki.
This site is quite dynamic, and ready for your suggestions. Missing something, want a mailing list, found a google group or something else, don't hesitate and just drop a line.

Macs
Hi, nice that you made this page.
There's no Mac support as well.
ICT guys told me:" we won't start at that, it's an unsafe system"
WinDorks they are...
Luckily, linux and mac are alike (both have a strong UNIX base), which makes thus page useful to me too.
