Curriculum vitae

I was born on June 11th, 1964, in Wilrijk (Antwerp, Belgium).
In 1986, I achieved my licentiate degree in maths at UA (University of Antwerp). After that, I assisted courses in algebra and geometry in the department of mathematics and computer science.

In the meantime, I convinced Christel Huyssen to marry me in 1987. Now we have 3 children: Tess (1989), Robbe (1993) and Lore (1999). Christel also teaches maths, in a highschool (Moretus, Ekeren).

I defended my phd thesis in 1992:

Lines in 3-space. Isotopy, chirality and weavings

Between 1993 and 1995, I enjoyed a postdoc position at UA.
Since March 1995, I am teaching maths in the engineering department of the Karel de Grote-hogeschool.
I am still attached at UA as guest professor, providing three optional courses.
